| Incredible stories of toughness but fraility... | Rating: 3 |
If I would have written this review two months ago I would have given it 5 stars. I misplaced it, couldnt find it, and later got a message from other half that she found my phone....in my pants pocket...after it had been washed in the washer.
I gave up the phone for dead.
Two days later I hit the power button and, much to my amazement, it began to power up. I immediately turned it back off, took everything apart, let it air dry for another two days, put it back together...VIOLA!!! worked perfectly! This after surviving a washing machine!
Alas, four weeks later I dropped it off a counter onto a linoleum floor and the LCD screen broke. Phone still worked but couldnt read numbers, menus, etc.
Five stars for surviving long immersion in soapy water and spin cycles, 1 star for wussy LCD death from a waist-high level drop....put them both in the wash (pun intended) and come out with three stars.
BTW I did order this phone again as a replacement. Dont need cameras, videos, and other tween gadetry...just a phone. |
| X-CELLENT Phone!! | Rating: 5 |
Strong battery life. Clear screen. Straight forward Command Console, with crisp, CLEAR reception.....PLUS, the flip design keeps the keys from getting "accidently" activated, unlike certain notorious Nokia models. You also have a nice face clock big and easily readable, while the unit is flipped closed..
Buy it, you wont regret it... |
| Solid but incredibly frustrating | Rating: 2 |
This phone is generally fine. The battery life is good, all the technical aspects are mostly OK. However, I find myself swearing at it on a quite regular basis for two main reaons:
* The UI is incredibly un-intuitive. After more than a year with this phone, I still struggle to get it to do things. I'm really not an idiot who just can't figure it out, but this phone makes me feel like one. I've never had difficulty with a phone before, but this one makes it hard to even send a text message.
* The UI is incredibly slow. Really really god-awfully painfully slow. Think slow, then slow it down. When texting, I often use the wrong punctuation mark, because the UI can't keep up with the repeated pressing of one single button.
I did all the right research, and chose the phone based on a number of its merits. But I've never wanted to throw a phone across a room before. Welcome to the Siemens CF62T. |

This is a horrible phone!
After a few months of usage, I noticed that it would turn itself off when I closed it. Once that started, I could fairly reliably have it turn itself off on subsequent closures of the phone. I'm not pressing the power button on purpose. I discovered that the solution is to open it, and leave it open until it has a signal from the cell phone network (then wait a few more seconds). After that long waiting period, you can close your phone. This solution will work for about a month or so, and then the power problem happens all over again. It's annoying to find that people were trying to call you, and you discover that your phone turned itself off again with a full battery.
The ringer is fine. It's nice that the vibration ringer is separate from the audio ringer. It's annoying to use when switching between theater mode and normal mode. You have to perform too many steps to switch between those modes. My previous phone was much quicker at switching between the two frequently used modes.
When I first tried to buy this phone, the t-mobile store rep said I may not like it. He don't remember him exactly saying why. I thought he was trying to up-sell me to a more expensive phone. I was wrong. He was being very truthful.
This is not a reliable nor an easy to use phone. |
| For the love of God, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!! If i could give a phone NEGATIVE STARS . . . | Rating: 1 |
If I could give a phone negative starts, I would give this phone -100. I "upgraded" to this phone over a year ago. Worked fine for about 6 months. Then it started short-circuiting on me. It kept, yes, turning off on its own whenever it felt like it. Very annoying when you have check your phone every other minute to make sure it is turned out. And this was no due to abuse because I am very careful with my phones and never dropped it once. After about a week it was turning itself off literally every 5 minutes. THEN, it wouldn't let me dial or make phone calls. And then if that wasn't enough, it wouldn't let me answer incoming calls. Then the screen starting freezing up. I had a warranty with T-mobile so they sent me a new phone - same exact style unfortunately. This time it took only 3 weeks before it was once again shutting itself off every few minutes, not letting me dial out or receive phone calls. Once again I had to exchange it, uncer warranty, for the exact same type of phone. This phone only took a week to crap out on me. I went down to T-mobile to try to get them to give me a phone - any phone other phone - besides another one of this style. They said I had to wait until a full year after I "upgraded" to this piece of crap. Of note, the minute I showed the cust. service rep the phone, he laughed and said saracastically, "So how do you like your phone?" He also told me they stopped selling it ages ago because of all the returns on it. In 10 months I went through 7 of these phones. Please, for the love of God, Do NOT buy this piece of crap! ANY OTHER PHONE WOULD BE BETTER THAN THIS! Also of note, the ringer is very, very quiet - even at the loudest setting. So if you actually want to hear it ring, do not ever listen to any music (even quiet music) or watch TV or go shopping or to any public place because if you can't hear a pin drop, you definaely will not hear this phone ring. After this phone I went out and bought the old NOKIA 6010 (...)it actually works! And you can hear it ring! Sure it looks ancient and isn't a cool flip-phone, but at leat it actually works!

| Well I had a Siemens CF62T... But stupid me washed it!!! And now it won't work.. Ive been trying everywhere to find one to replace it.. because I LOVE THAT PHONE! Its always worked great for me... I got my hopes up when I saw Amazon.com had some..but then it said "not available" :( This phone is so cute and compact..I love the ring tones and the message tones. Also you can set the lights to flash in so many differant ways.. I hope to find one soon. I'm not into games...so that doesnt matter to me that it has none...the text messaging is fun and easy..the voice mail is fast and clear. This is a perfect phone for anyone who wants pre-paid service and not alot of frills. |

| This is the worst phone ever! It cuts off all the time. It scratches easily. And now the lid won't shut! The battery life is awful. And it drops calls frequently (Yes, it's the phone cause my brother never drops any calls on the same network). I can be sittin and wondering why I haven't got any calls and the phone is off! Did I mention the lid won't shut. I push down on the top and it pops right back open. No wonder these phones were recalled... DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON THIS PHONE! Mayble I'll get a razr or a pebl... A cameraphone would be nice. |
