Get a free unlocked Motorola RAZR v3i instead!Rating: 4
Why settle for less, or commit yourself to a specific cellular provider and service plan, when you can get a complimentary unlocked top of the line Motorola RAZR v3i cell phone that works with any cellular service provider and any SIM card. I got mine free at this web site: stuffgratis.biz/razrv3i
Best Phone on Verizon as of May 2006Rating: 5
I have been using an E815 for a month now. My previous phone was a cheap Kyocera KX414. I looked at a ton of phone reviews before deciding on the E815. The only other phone I liked was the Samsung a930, but that was not available on Verizon at my time of purchase.

The E815 is a bargain at only $50 with a 2yr service agreement.

PROS
- Accepts MicroSD/TransFlash cards. Recommendation: get a SanDisk 1GB MicroSD card off of Amazon or Newegg for about $42. You will also need to format the card using a computer and SD card reader before using it in the phone. I bought a SanDisk MobileMate SD+ 5-in-1 reader off Amazon for $13.
- Works with Macs! The phone works very well with my G4 iBook over Bluetooth. Verizon cripples their phones and disables file transfer over Bluetooth, but you can sync your contacts and calendar just fine with iSync. I use my MobileMate to transfer data between my phone and the iBook.
- Great reception. I've never dropped a call.
- Long battery life.
- Good 1.3MP camera. I use it primarily for taking photos of contacts so that I see their photo when they are calling.
- Good front and primary displays!
- Plays and records video.

CONS
- Thicker than the RAZR, but the E815 is smaller overall and doesn't feel weird when holding it up to your head.
- Verizon currently doesn't allow Bluetooth file transfer with this phone. They only allow it on the RAZR (As of May 2006).
- I sometimes hit the speakerphone button when talking. The button is on the left side of the phone and almost halfway down.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
- Get a Plantronics MX150 headset for car usage. It's a cheap headset that won't run out of battery (like a Bluetooth one). The phone has an autoanswer option, so just plug in your headset on your commute, put it on, and go! If you want a Bluetooth headset, you should have a wired headset as a backup.
- Turn the E815 into your MP3 player for exercising. There's no need to buy an iPod! Just get a microSD card (see my PROS section above).
Motorola E815 Phone (Verizon Wireless)Rating: 5
This phone is the best phone that I've ever purchased. The Motorola rocks big time... I can't believe I wasted my money on those LG and Samsung phones. LG phones aren't good if you want "reception". I use my phone as a phone and I can't stand dropped calls or having to move from one place to another just to get a good signal. I always had to do that with the LG phone. When I bought the Samsung the phone was ok... but it began to get hot after talking on it for 5 minutes. My face began to burn a little. That thing got hot. So I decided to get another phone. And this time I chose the Motorola E815. This phone gets really godd reception and I have no complaints about this phone at all. It doesn't heat up and the signal strength is amazing.

On a side note my cousin has the LG8100 and he can't even get a good signal at his job or house.... I thank God I chose the Motorola E815. No regrets at all.

Go Motorola if you want really good reception!

The Screen gone blankRating: 2
I liked the phone when I bought it about 8 months before. But now its inner screen has started going blank. Sometimes it works and sometimes it don't. Called Motorola. They said I have to go to the retailer and get it fixed and pay from my pocket.

The product manual mentions the computer connectivity. But there is no USB or other port on the phone. I doubt it can be connected to the computer. Learning the phone usage is like learning C++. Not easy to learn.

Phone reception and signal is excelent. So think before you buy.

Nice Phone!Rating: 5
Got this phone for a birthday present. So far, I like it. The only complaint is that every contact in your address book needs a speed dial. I've only had this for 3 days so far, so please someone give me a solution. The phone has a good, more than average battery life. The camera is OK... not for professional people. The camera does have a glitch between the time when you press the button and when the shuttor opens. The ringtones that come with the phone are pretty boring, just like any phone. I reccomend you to go and buy a bluetooth adapter for your computer(or if you already have bluetooth) and get new ringtones and download the pictures and movies. I like the bluetooth a lot. The phone has encouraged me to buy more Motorola items, such as walkie-talkies. I have bought 4 walkie-talkies, ALL from Motorola and I am planning to buy a bluetooth headset for my phone made from Motorola. Here are some Pros and Cons to wrap this up.

Pros:
Clear, crisp voice
Has speakerphone
Nice, big display(on front and main)
Keys are easy to press

Cons:
Nothing

A word of advice: Turn off your bluetooth when you are not using it. People can hack your cell phone when your bluetooth is still on and not connected.
Super phone and incredible options!Rating: 5
I love this new E815 replacement phone by Motorola! My favorite feature on this phone is the voice commands, no need to physically input all your voice commands, the phone has a programmed operator that can find any number programmed into your phone, all you have to do is "phonetically" say the name in to the speaker and WHALA! You are connected. It's predecesor required you to manually input all the entries, who has that kind of time!? This is a super feature if you drive alot. I have no dropped calls, no reception problems, well, except for driving through the deserts of New Mexico, but if that's the worst it gets, I consider myself having a superior phone compared to it's competition!
