Rated 3.5 out of 5

With support for Virgin Mobile's VirginXL wireless content services, a VGA camera with flash, dual displays, and a speakerphone, the 8910 Flasher V7 is a great mobile companion. Get the most out of your Virgin Mobile service with this powerful phone.

Take a closer look at the 8910's functions.
Design
The phone features a traditional clamshell design with a 128 x 160 TFT color display with 65,000 colors. The rear of the flip-up cover houses a camera that can snap shots at 640 x 480 resolution, also known as VGA resolution. There's also a small 95 x 64 secondary black-and-white LCD display on the back of the cover that displays incoming call information, network signal strength, and more. Most camera features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's control pad. The top right side of the unit houses an extendable antenna, and data and charging ports are housed on the unit's bottom edge.

Calling Features
The Flasher V7 has all the latest calling features you've come to expect. The phone comes with built-in Virgin Mobile Superphonic ringtones, plus a vibrating alert. Superphonic ringtones feature real music tracks; more are available via Virgin Mobile's VirginXL service. Ringtones can be assigned to specific callers so you don't have to look at the phone to know who's calling. The built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear, and voice-activated dialing makes calling your friends, family, and associates as easy as saying their names. There's also a built-in address book that can store up to 300 contacts for quick and easy management of phone numbers and e-mail addresses.

Messaging and Internet
The Flasher V7 covers the messaging basics with support for sending and receiving text and picture messages. T9 text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile e-mail and text messaging users.

The phone fully supports Virgin Mobile's enhanced wireless content service, VirginXL. Use the pay-per-use service to download Superphonic ringtones, animations. and voices of the hottest recording artists. Get content and vote in TV-based polls with the MTV area of your phone, or get jokes and updates from Comedy Central. Pick a celebrity voice to answer your voice mail, or get a SpongeBob thought of the day. Need to jog your memory? Use Virgin's song ID service. Press the Song ID command, point your Flasher V7 toward a song that's playing in the room, and within minutes a text message appears identifying the song's title. There's even a "Rescue Rings" service to help get you out of sticky dating or other personal situations. The list of cool content features goes on and on.

The Flasher V7 ships with a number of handy tools, including a calendar, a calculator and an alarm clock. A voice memo feature lets you record clips up to 60 seconds in length.

Imaging and Entertainment
The Flasher V7's VGA camera makes it easier than ever to snap good pictures and share them with friends via picture messaging. The camera features a built-in flash for getting great shots in low-light situations. The phone boasts custom Virgin Mobile graphics--screen savers, wallpaper, and menu icons-- that let you dress up your phone to suit your personality. More graphics, wallpapers, and screen savers are available from the VirginXL service. One game, a demo version of Snood, is included with the phone, and a big selection of additional games can be downloaded from the VirginXL service.

awesome beginner phone if you keep it concealed from humanityRating: 3
I recently bought this phone and I think that it's a great starter phone, however, I will be getting another phone. Here are some of the pros and cons:
CONS
1.The phone is so bulky and long
2.Nothing against blue, but in my opinion, a phone looks better in silver or black most of the time(I was only able to find the blue kind)
3.The phone has the "virgin mobile" logo typed so people can read it nice and clear (I mean really, it's like they're trying to annoy us, and even if you are a virgin, you don't wanna walk into school and people are like "hey, man wassup with my virgin homeboy?, or "HEY,LOOK, IT'S THE VIRGIN,HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!", or maybe you're trying to take a picture of a hot girl and at the last second, she says, "oh, wait, you're a virgin, you probably don't even know what a ***** is. Get away from me, you virgin!")

PROS
1.The phone is good for taking up close pictures, even though you won't get to take a picture of a hot girl because of the described situation above
2.It has many coool features, like virgin XL
3.Its a really amazing phone if you don't plan to show it to anybody

I hope my review will help somebody in their buying decision.

Try tracfone instead !!!Rating: 1
Tracfone gives better deals in minutes. It is perfect for those with light, in town usage. It only uses one unit per minute, two if you're outside of your area code(roaming), and long distance doesn't cost any extra. The airtime doesn't cost a fortune, and you have no credit checks, or monthly bills. Reception is good because they utilize many different providers instead of just one. They also have a referral program, so you can earn 100 extra minutes for free if your friends and family buy one too(they also get 180 minutes). If you want a referral to get started with 100 free minutes, just e-mail me at amitgames@yahoo.com , I'd be happy to send you the link!
Decent phone, BIG hardware and customer service issuesRating: 1
I've had this phone for a year and a few months, my husband gave it to me as a Christmas gift the year it came out. In terms of all it's functions it worked fine; camera, games, making calls, etc. However a few months after getting it I had a problem with the charger. Basicially the metal pin in the charging hole broke. I called Virgin about it and they sent out a second phone, but I of course lost all my pictures and stored numbers. Well recently it happened again and even though I haven't had this phone for a year the warranty only starts with when I purchased the orginial phone. So I have, once again, lost all my photos and contacts and Virgin won't do anything about it. I was even willing to stay with Virgin as my phone company and upgrade to another phone, but I wanted at least $50 off the new phone, considering we paid nearly $200 for this one when it came out. But all they would offer me was a different phone for $36. Thanks guys, wanted the camera. Basically this particular charging system is crap and they don't want to do anything to make up for it.
