ANYCOM HS-890 Bluetooth Headset

Wireless/Mobile Phone Accesory/Cellular Phone Accessories

The Anycom HS-890 Bluetooth Headset combines elegant design and comfort, making it a great wireless companion. Although this unit weighs less than 15 grams, it offers up to an amazing five hours of talk time and 144 hours of standby time.

The HS-890 provides crystal-clear sound both for you and your caller via a noise-canceling microphone in combination with the latest digital signal processing and a high quality speaker. The headset's Bluetooth 1.2 specification offers quicker reconnection times with paired devices, while eliminating transmission conflicts with other radio transmissions, such as WiFi. The HS-890 supports both Bluetooth Headset and the Hands-free profiles, allowing you to use it with virtually any Bluetooth phone and even with PDAs and PCs supporting these profiles. The headset is designed with three operating buttons, including a volume up/down button, call answer/end button, and a mute button, as well as two color LEDs that display call and charging status. And if the phone supports it, the HS-890 also provides voice-dial, re-dial, and auto-answer functions.

The Anycom HS-890 has a range of up to 33 feet, measures 71 x 26 x 25 mm, and, as mentioned, weighs less than 15 grams. The headset ships with a rechargeable 120 mAh Lithium-Ion Polymer battery that can be recharged in around two hours, and includes a limited two-year worldwide warranty.

HORRIBLE HEADSET - DON'T BUYRating: 1
I bought this headset and discovered the exact same problem as another customer notes. After a few minutes, it turns itself off, with its battery saving feature, and it takes FOREVER to turn the worthless thing on again - plenty of time to get into an accident attempting it. I am returning it to the store immediately. Do not buy this headset.
Fatal flawRating: 1
I thought I have finally found my perfect bluetooth headset. After trying several (unfortunately I've broken ear loop on otherwise excellent Logitech Mobile Freedom), I had no luck at all. Static and stuttering all I had from several models from Tekken, Cardo Systems and such. Finally after doing extensive research I've came across Anycom HS-890. It sounds pretty good, fits well and could've been the One, but has one very fatal flaw, which kills it completely. Here is how it goes: you pair it with your phone (Motorola E815 in my case), turn on both the phone and headset, it connects perfectly. Then in about 2 to 3 minutes it goes to BATTERY SAVING MODE, to say plainly it disconnects from the phone by itself. You think its just one of those "accidental" disconnects, so you connect it again, ether from the headset of phone. In about 2 to 3 minutes it does it again and again and again. Quick check on their tech support forum confirms that it is a problem with every single headset they sell (most posts in German though). There is no way to call them, so I emailed the support and they answer that it's impossible to turn off that "feature".
It defeats the purpose of a hands free device to be constantly connected without using your hands *wink wink*. It goes back to store, what a shame for otherwise pretty decent product.
Best I've Ever UsedRating: 5
I've used two different headsets, and they've both been less than stellar. This is the first headset that has had excellent sound, fits comfortabley and easily on my ear, and works flawlessly with my phone.
